Akhil bhugwandin, creative rationale, 15012953

the assignment was to look for a problem at Vega and use what we had learnt from the different modules of our subject Icrde in order to diagnose a problem and use ideology to find possible solutions and create a solution to the problem.

my research started of by interviewing students at campus asking them about experiences that they had that they found a fault with, people discussed their problems to me and it seems as if the main problem was "too many assignments" however according to my briefs, the assignments were well spaced out and we had enough time to do them, the problem was procrastination and that was the core issue.

during my ideating phase I was looking for the core insight to procrastination and what is the cause of it and I have found out that temptation is the key to procrastinating, because of you are not tempted to do something then you wouldn't do it in the first place. So that was the key to my problem. I had also found out that procrastination could also be used to fight temptation.

during the creating phase I have thought about possible ways to combat the devil in charge of stealing your time as well as mine and the answer lies in no religious scripture, it lies in your will power. The solution is simple, just procrastinate on temptation.

the process of writing blog posts were tedious and  although it was fun to do. I would like to blog more however time is my biggest constraint,(hint: The reason I posted about procrastination)

lets all just fucking make things right

at the end of the day, no matter that happens, we all gonna procrastinate no matter what, be it work, the gym, legs day, going to buy bread and milk, or even going to have a wash. It's a primal instinct of survival, its inevitable. Its a part of survival that we need to get out of, teaching our younger generation about not falling into temptation sounds like a quote from a catholic priest.
we need to teach them that procrastination can be your best friend as well as your worst enemy in life.

teaching our teachers to teach the kids to learn without distraction will be a bit of a challenge but teaching our kids to work without distraction is more efficient.

the formula to be as productive as possible is simple, procrastinate on temptation, then time management will not be and issue then you will find you wont need those tissues when you have deadlines to meet, so take a seat and do your work,

manage time or waste it, choice is yours

when it comes to time management people often think that they manage their time quite well however people often loose track of it, similarly to when you enjoying something and an hour of enjoyment feels like 10 minutes.

60% of peoples time is used to to productive work, and the rest is all wasted time, I mean you cant be working forever but that 60% includes exercise, sleep, and sleep, so where is the 40% going?
to our dear friend procrastination of course ...
time management is an important part of anyone's life but if you cant manage your time properly are you wasting your life ?

lets do good and procrastinate

since procrastination is thought of as the thief of time, what if we use the thief of time for our own benefit?

everyone complains about never having enough time because most of the time it is stolen from us.
but we can use the thief of time to steal the time we waste giving us more time to become productive.

we can procrastinate on things that waste our time 😆
such as watching tv, playing video games or how about just simply eating too much, easier said then done right.
the mind is a vast ocean of hidden info that we only are able to access 10% in our conscious state of mind the rest are our primitive survival instincts cover 90%. Just goes to show, are we really an advanced species or are we just better looking Neanderthals.

procrastination, lets destroy it together

we found out about what makes this demon tick, but how do we combat it?

lets use procrastination as a way to get more work done. We can procrastinate on doing things that give us pleasure instead of work, that way we can   have time to do what we like and we can be efficient in doing our work.

what if we do work in a way and incorporate what we love while we doing work, by doing that we could actually cut down our time consumption by a certain percentage and incorporate creativity in our work in the process.

so doing something fun whilst doing work is one of the ways to combat the pain of procrastinations after effects

i vs procrastination (final battle)

we got to the crux of the problem of procrastination. its a bit of temptation and mostly the lazy people that have work to do but feel as if they have time to do it.

so basically procrastination is the combination of laziness, temptation and poor time management.
we can combat this by using procrastination to abstain from temptation in turn aiding time management.

but how do you do that by not making the process of turning procrastination, boring?

the first option is to teach children from a young age to procrastinate temptation instead of work that will make their lives way easier in the long run. however we need a quick fix to the problem in order to relieve students  from access stress on hand in day.

the solution ...

procrastinate on temptation instead of work, whilst doing work, take breaks in between but limit yourself on breaks, don't limit yourself on work time. make your work exciting as well, think of it as a challenge that will enable you to win something big, rather than thinking that this assignment will give you good marks if you do it well.

i vs procrastination (part 3)

procrastination can be a good thing or it can be a really really bad thing. if we were thought, at a young age, to use procrastination to abstain from the pleasures that are sinful (pleasures that takes your concentration away) then it wouldn't really be a problem.

often people make excuses for procrastination and say "i needed the break" or "i was working my ass off, i deserved this". these are the common excuses that people make when they are exposed to something that they enjoy. sometimes procrastination is inevitable in cases such as when you are doing work on your computer and the lights go out. or when the WiFi servers run down.

if people were thought to use procrastination to abstain then instead of using a computer people would rather write out what ever they were doing and re-type it out. or if they were doing an assignment on computer software they would rather save as they go along and take a break during the load shedding. these are all simple ways of using this sinful break as a good thing.

but if the government took this into consideration, our teachers in primary school levels will teach kids use the the inverse of procrastination, and maybe then our lives and country will have a better economy and scholars.

i vs procrastination (part 2)

whilst doing research i have found that in order to relieve the bounds of procrastination you need to eliminate temptation.

what if you use procrastination to relieve temptation??
we procrastinate when it comes to doing work or chores but why don't we procrastinate when it comes to drinking, smoking, going out and having sex?

its simple ...

like i said in my previous blog post "PROCRASTINATION IS A BITCH, now what to do?"
temptation is one of the tools in helping us survive in the wild (assuming most people stayed in the bush) our neanderthal forefathers passed on their survival instincts on to us which in turn makes us selfish, sex crazy, greedy beasts. however modern day morals and values force us to hide our primal instincts away in order to come across as "decent" human beings.

using procrastination as a tool to abstain is a big achievement. If we as human beings were thought that procrastination is to be used to abstain then i doubt that this would be a problem for tertiary institution students.

i vs procrastination

there are many ways to combat procrastination. such as time management, and schedules or even mental barriers to temptation. however people just love to give in to temptation.

ESPECIALLY STUDENTS

so how do we fight the evil bounds of temptation that leaves us with the drunkenness of procrastination which leads to a hangover of not getting stuff done?

how about if instead of teaching students about deadlines and start teaching them about abstinence.
by doing this students will know what their priorities are and they will do their work more efficiently and on time. eliminate the thought of being tempted so students wont be driven to procrastinate.

temptation is not only about sex and food, temptation is when your mind drives to to seek pleasure by doing things that people love such as eating, sex, alcohol, gambling, playing with the PlayStation or even watching movies. this is the key factor in procrastination. without temtptation, do you think that procrastination will exist?

PROCRASTINATION IS A BITCH, now what to do?

the only problem (biggest problem) in vega durbs is procrastination. this is caused by temptation and poor time management.

even though vega has time management workshops, students dont heed the advice given to them. purely temptation.

theres two ways of combating this problem, one is learn to manage time better or you can get rid of temptation. but what if you combat this issue by mixing both?

for example, set your time out to be more efficient and make time for the things you love doing ... if only life was so simple.

to get rid of temptation one has to become a robot. human psychology has temptation hard wired into our brains as a primal instinct of survival and reproduction.
so how do you get rid of a primal instinct.

truth is people cant and students have trouble abstaining from the evil bounds of temptation.

step one on how to combat temptation: time management.

time management does not completely eliminate temptation but it gives you time to give in to temptation.
